2021 Local Service Opportunities
Here For Kids International has a mission for service.
After successfully serving our international partners through our Virtual Service Experiences in the Spring of 2021, we focused our efforts on serving our local communities this Summer/Fall 2021 through four Local Service Opportunities!
Some of our highlights include:
All experiences were led by HFK Alumni.
All events were held in different environments: Park, Beach, Trail, and School.
Events were held in three cities in two different states - California and Utah.
Over 100 participants helped clean up their local community through our Local Service Opportunities!
Bay Area Park Clean Up

Edenvale Service Day
Saturday, October 23, 2021
9:00-2:00pm | Edenvale Elementary School - San Jose, CA
A day full of service with 100 volunteers working on 10 projects with the goals to beautify the Edenvale campus which serves as a safe space for the Edenvale neighborhood.
Utah Trail Clean Up
Saturday, September 11, 2021
8:30-10:30am | General Holm Park - South Salt Lake, UT
This was our first Local Service Opportunity outside of California! Picking up trash along the Trail provided an opportunity for local volunteers to beautify their community.
SoCal Beach Clean Up
Saturday, August 7, 2021
9am-12pm | Crystal Pier - San Diego, CA
We collaborated with Pacific Beach Rotaract club for our very first beach clean up! Volunteers helped clean up a local beach and inspired others to serve their community.
Bay Area Park Clean Up
Sunday, July 18, 2021
9-11am | Almaden Lake Park - San Jose, CA
We had a successful park clean up which connected local residents and served our community! This is the beginning of many local service opportunities to come.
