2023 HFK Retreat Recap
Our 2023 HFK Retreat brought together our Board Members, Staff, and Team Captains for a time of fellowship and reflection.
As the 2023 Service Season came to a close, it was an opportunity to celebrate another successful season of international service trips. We were blessed to travel to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Costa Rica, and Colombia! With many of our HFK Family gathered, we began sharing hopes for the season to come.

Friday
HFK Staff, Board Members, and Team Captains arrived to the Bay Area and settled into our accommodations for the weekend. 🏡👥
Later in the evening everyone met up for dinner and dessert!🍦💚
Saturday
Our Board, Staff, and Team Captains met at the beautiful JBL Home Ranch for a day of meetings and group bonding. After some breakfast and mingling, we kicked off our 2nd annual Retreat Olympics in style with creative names and handshakes. At the end of the day, it was team "Vamos a La Playa" who took home the gold! 💚🤝🥇
Throughout the day, our Staff presented their annual reports and we had great discussions about HFK as an organization and where we see it going in the future. There were many laughs and prayers and pictures to be had. 💻🙏📸
We had a dinner to celebrate our founder, Randy Farris, since we were never able to properly celebrate him stepping down as the director (which happened during the pandemic). 🍴💙☺️
Sunday
The next morning, we headed to the OG HFK Headquarters to assist our Donations Coordinator, Jorge, with sorting, packing, and preparing donation bags for the upcoming service season. Some friends and family joined in on the project. Thanks to their support, 17 duffle bags were packed and over 800 pounds of donations were moved and sorted! 🧳💪
We enjoyed one last lunch together before folks had to head to the airport. We missed our SoCal HFK Fam over the weekend but are glad they are safe despite the tropical storm. ✈️🙏
