2024 HFK Retreat Recap
We recently had our 2024 HFK Retreat! We brought together our Board Members, Staff, and Team Captains for a time of in-person collaboration, reflection, and fun!
Our teams traveled to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Colombia this Service Season! It was great to come together to reflect on the 2023-2024 trips and celebrate another successful season of international service trips.

Friday
For many of our retreat participants, Friday is a travel day. Many of our HFK Staff, Board Members, and Team Captains came from different places all over the country by car and plane. Once arriving to the Bay Area, they settled into their accommodations - the team house for the weekend! ✈️🚙🏡
The folks that arrived earlier in the day met up for dinner in the evening with our founder, Randy! In the late evening, our HFK Staff had a quick meeting to plan for the next day. It was exciting to be in-person for a meeting as two of our staff members were meeting face to face for the first time! 🍽🙌
Saturday
Our Board, Staff, and Team Captains gathered once again at the JBL Home Ranch. We are so thankful to our HFK Family that have allowed us to use this space for the last few HFK Retreats. We spent the day conversing, collaborating, and reflecting on the mission that drives HFK forward and all that was done in this last year. 🌞💙✨
Everyone participated in our 3rd annual Retreat Olympics and were divided into 4 teams. The team spirit was alive with each team picking a team name and preparing a special cheer. Through fun competitive games, team "JBL Legends" took home the gold! 💚🤝🥇
Our Staff presented their annual reports from each department, and a special time was dedicated to celebrating the Team Captains that helped make our international trips possible! Everyone also took some time to write thank you letters to our donors to share some insight from the people who have been positively impacted by their generosity. 🇲🇽🇩🇴🇨🇷🇨🇴 🙏
Overall, the day was filled with lots of teamwork, laughter, and great conversations. 🤗
Sunday
This year, we hosted our first ever HFK Family Reunion at the Lafayette Reservoir in Lafayette, CA! 💙✨
With many of our Board Members, Staff, and Team Captains in town, we felt it was a great opportunity to host a space for HFK alumni, family, and friends to come together.

It was a wonderful weekend of fellowship in the Bay Area with our HFK Fam! An opportunity to reflect on this season inspired ideas to implement for our upcoming service season.
