Peru Summer Trip - July 2025

This trip offers an international service experience in Lima, Peru.
Below are some important details about this upcoming trip.

Deadline to apply for this trip is May 19, 2025.

PARTNER SUPPORT

This team will serve Kids Alive Peru as we learn about their ministry and the impact they have in their community. During our time together, team members will interact with the kids from the homes and the school, the ministry staff, the house parents, and the local community that our partner serves. We will also provide financial and physical support to further aid in their year-round ministry.

“Kids Alive International is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of vulnerable children and families.” Serving with Kids Alive may include moments of prayer, attending Christian church services, listening to Bible teachings & worship, and participating in other religious focused experiences.

While we partner with faith-based organizations, it is not a requirement to adhere to a specific religion or belief to join us. We strive to provide an equal opportunity to all individuals interested in our service trips, hoping that each life will be uniquely transformed. That being said, we ask each participant to be respectful of each other and of our partners, and to remain open to conversing about the things that make us different as well as the commonalities that bring us together.

TEAM CAPTAINS

Your Team Captains for this trip will be Liz Soto & Yadira Beltran. Here is a message from them:

Hi there, my name is Liz and beyond excited to come back this year as a Team Captain! I was first introduced to HFK at Saint Mary’s and got the amazing opportunity to travel and spend a month serving in the Dominican Republic.

I reconnected with HFK 2 years ago and visited Peru for a week-long service trip. I’m excited to come back to that same site in Peru and bring people to this wonderful community. This is a community which has seen a lot and experienced more than most people do in a lifetime. There will be plenty of fun and laughs, but let’s not forget to bring loads of love and empathy.
-Liz

¡Hola! I’m Yadira and I’m very excited for the opportunity to be one of the co-captains for this trip. My experience with Here for Kids (HFK) has been so positive and incredible that I knew I wanted to continue serving alongside them. This will be my second trip with HFK; I traveled to Costa Rica (¡Pura Vida! 😃) at the end of June 2024 as a team member and felt the joy of service and comunidad reignited in me. I traveled alongside an incredible group of people and learned so much about a culture different from my own.

I am a Spanish Dual Immersion teacher and absolutely love working with children. However, being able to serve others, especially young people, outside the classroom setting is a beautiful blessing. I am from Fairfield, CA and graduated from Saint Mary’s College of CA in 2013 (Go Gaels!). I hope those seeking an opportunity to serve others and do meaningful work consider joining us in July 2025! 😀
-Yadira

Here For Kids strives to be diligent in protecting both our team members and the sites that we serve. HFK will purchase health insurance coverage for the duration of your trip and provide masks for you to wear during travel if desired.

Each international partner has different donation requests which will be communicated to you during pre-trip communication and meetings. We ask all trip participants to limit the packing of personal travel items to their carry-on bag and backpack so that partner donations can travel in any checked baggage.
