Join us on this Service Trip to San Jose, Costa Rica!
This trip offers a unique service experience in San Jose, Costa Rica. Our hope is that each team member learns the eternal joy of service through their time serving with Here For Kids International. Below are important details about this upcoming trip.
PARTNER SUPPORT
This partnership supports Roblealto Child Care Association as we provide an opportunity for them to share about their ministry and the impact they have in their community, a time for the kids to interact with our team members, and a way for us to provide financial and physical help in support of their year-round ministry.

HEALTH & SAFETY
Here For Kids strives to be diligent in protecting both our team members and the sites that we serve. HFK will purchase health insurance for you during your trip with us and provide masks for you to wear during your travel and on our partner sites.

TIME COMMITMENT
Team members of this trip are expected to:
Attend two virtual pre-trip meetings with team prior to traveling.
Participate in week-long international service trip.
Depart May 27, 2023 & Return June 4, 2023.
Attend at least one post-trip meetings with team after returning.
FINANCIAL COMMITMENT
Below is the breakdown of the costs associated with this service trip. Once your application is accepted, you will be asked to pay a $180 deposit to secure your spot on the team. Then, you will be required to follow the funding milestones on your Go Method profile to stay up to date on your trip payments. The total trip payment is due no later than 14 days before the departure of your trip.
Breakdown of Cost:
$1,000 Airfare & Baggage Fees
$550 Roblealto Fee (Project costs, room & board, transportation to and from airport, activities for the kids)
$100 HFK Operation & Care Package Costs
$50 Travel Insurance
$100 In country excursion
$1,800 Total
FUNDRAISING & SCHOLARSHIPS
All trip participants are encouraged to fundraise to complete their total trip cost. You are easily able to ask your community to support your trip by creating a Personal Support Page and are always welcome to raise more than the required amount as a donation towards your team goal. We will also provide a Fundraising Info Sheet and a Fundraising Letter Template which you can find in our Service Trip Resources here.
For this trip, in addition to fundraising, we are offering the following types of scholarships for team participants that need financial assistance to complete total trip payments.
15% Scholarship (15% off total trip cost.)
30% Scholarship (30% off total trip cost.)
You can apply for a scholarship during your application process if needed. Scholarship money is limited and will only be awarded to participants who need financial assistance.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
This is what you can expect during your trip:
Serving the partner site in any projects they need help with during the week.
Team bonding and team development activities.
Time playing and getting to know kids and staff at the partner site.
Opportunities for spiritual growth individually and with teammates.
Opportunities to support international partners beyond the trip week.
A day to explore the beauty the country has to offer on a park visit, beach day, hike, or other excursion activity.
