Mexico Team 2022 (Invite Only)

Join us on this Service Trip to Tijuana, Mexico!

We invite you to join us as HFK expands to serve in a new country… Mexico! This “first ever” service trip will be supporting a local church as they give back to their community in celebration of the holiday season. In a quick weekend service trip, participants will have the opportunity to connect with the members of the community and experience the gift of giving in true spirit of the Christmas season.

PARTNER SUPPORT

This partnership supports the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in Tijuana, Mexico as we provide an opportunity for them to share about their ministry and the impact they have in their community, a time for the community to interact with our team members, and a way for us to provide financial and physical help in support of their year-round ministry.

Learn more about their mission through this video:

TEAM CAPTAINS

The team captains for this trip will be Frank Valencia, Jen Havey, and Marisol Valencia. These three HFK Alumni traveled to Tijuana in December 2021 for a vision trip to this site to pave the way for future HFK service teams. Here’s a message from them:

Hi! We are Frank & Marisol Valencia & Jennifer Havey the team captains for the first Here For Kids International trip to Mexico! We have led many trips with HFK to many different countries, but this will be our first team to Tijuana. We cannot wait to have you join us at this very special site which we visited last year on a HFK Vision Trip.

Jennifer currently lives in Los Angeles, CA and works for the Archdiocese there. Jen is originally from Sacramento and continues to travel home often to see her family & friends. She attended St. Mary's College in Moraga and was on the first team to the Dominican Republic & loves to serve internationally. Marisol & Frank have been leading HFK trips together for the past 6 years and are so excited for HFK's expansion to Mexico as it ties to their own cultural roots. They currently live in Valley Center, CA (San Diego County) with their dog Willow. They love to travel, and have both served in the Dominican Republic & Costa Rica with HFK.

The Mexico Team will be very special since it is only three days and packed with cultural immersion and service opportunities. The Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate priests will house us at their retreat center and help lead us in our service projects. We are excited for the leaders in LA and HFK to collaborate for this wonderful opportunity to serve together and celebrate a traditional Mexican posada with the community in Tijuana. Bring your soccer skills and an open heart to serve together. We look forward to pioneering this first trip with you all!
