This trip offers a unique, weekend service experience in Tijuana, Mexico. Below are important details about this upcoming trip.
PARTNER SUPPORT
This team will serve alongside The Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate as we learn about their ministry and the impact they have in their community. During our time together, team members will interact with the local community children and provide financial and physical support to further aid in their year-round ministry.

We started serving with HFK this year in April, serving in Mexico. We are very excited to be leaders for this upcoming Mexico trip. Our partners in Mexico, the kids, and our HFK members are very dear to us because we were able to experience an incredible opportunity serving and building meaningful connections with them; fostering a sense of community and shared purpose. TIME COMMITMENT
Team members of this trip are expected to:
Attend two virtual pre-trip meetings with the team prior to traveling.
Participate in weekend-long international service trip.
Arrive at the San Diego - Tijuana border the morning of Friday, December 15.
Return to the border the evening of Sunday, December 17.
Attend at least one post-trip meeting with the team after returning.
Transportation to and back from the San Diego/Tijuana border is the responsibility of each trip participant. Once you’re accepted and on the team Team Captains will coordinate pick ups, carpools, and overnight stays in the area if needed.
FINANCIAL COMMITMENT
Below is the breakdown of the costs associated with this service trip. Once your application is accepted, you will be asked to pay a $70 deposit to secure your spot on the team. Then, you will be required to follow the funding milestones on your Go Method profile to stay up to date on your trip payments. The total trip payment is due no later than 14 days before the departure of your trip.
Breakdown of Cost:
$150 - Partner Fee (Food, Lodging, Transportation)
$20 - Partner Donation
$50 - HFK Operations & Care Package
$220 Total Cost
FUNDRAISING
All trip participants are encouraged to fundraise to complete their total trip cost. You are able to ask your community to support your trip by creating a Personal Support Page and are always welcome to raise more than the required amount as a donation towards your team goal. We will also provide a Fundraising Info Sheet and a Fundraising Letter Template which you can find in our Service Trip Resources here.
